The shop is run by volunteers who come from all walks of life and every age group. Volunteering in the shop is always interesting and is a great way to get to know your neighbours and find out more about your local community.
All our volunteers are given full training before they start. Many of our customers are also volunteers who will offer their assistance if you need it.
If you are interested in volunteering, why not contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please also contact us if you would like to become a shareholder in our co-operative.
The shop’s current opening hours are:
Monday – Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm.
Saturday and Sunday we’re open from 8.00am to 1.00 pm
Each day is divided into 3 or 4 shifts and each volunteer normally works a 2 / 3 hour shift – either in a regular time slot or, for very busy folk, on a more ad-hoc basis when they are able to find the time.
It’s not a problem if you’re a regular volunteer but you’re going to be away or busy and can’t do your shift(s) – There is an online calendar, just fill in your slots or delete them if you’re away.
The volunteer’s rota is compiled every week and regular appeals are sent out for vacant slots to be filled. Filling one of these ‘emergency’ slots from time to time may suit your lifestyle better than a regular commitment.
